New and Blue (and White)

Blue and white china is both classic and versatile, working beautifully in many settings.  Blue Willow, the well-known navy and white pagoda pattern, has always been one of my favorites.  At Neiman Marcus last weekend, I walked through the china department and spotted a fabulous new blue and white pattern from Juliska called Country Estate.

Juliska is known for its paper-thin-yet-(supposedly)-dishwasher-friendly crystal, but they are also making a name for themselves in the china department.  Country Estate is made in Portugal of ceramic stoneware, an elegant blue pattern depicting homes and trees on a white background.

It coordinates beautifully with Juliska's Firenze pattern, which depicts a classic Florentine marble pattern in vivid blue hues.

Both patterns are affordable and chic.  My everyday china is classic white Apilco, so these might be perfect accessory pieces to add to my collection!

I just did that - Apilco white for everyday, accented with Spode Blue Italian. I do love the Juliska, too!

My mom told me a few decades ago that I would never regret buying white china. I should have listened to her!
