Getting Attached

Remember Rule #1?  Dealers can't get high on their own supply.  Usually I am pretty good about following this rule, but that changed this weekend as I was photographing an oushak I picked up to sell.

You know how much I love turquoise, and the turquoise in the rug kept staring me in the face.  Finally it dawned on me that this rug might be perfect for my entryway.

I wasn't looking for an entryway rug.  The one I have is fine.  It was my grandmother's, is hand-knotted, good neutral colors, etc.

But I couldn't stop thinking about the turquoise in the oushak.  So I decided to bring it home and try it out.

I love what the turquoise and inky blues do against the  flagstone.

And overall it has a lighter feel than the original rug.

The turquoise tole chandelier really brings out the turquoise in the rug.  The rest of the entryway is pretty neutral and traditional, but I always need that pop.

I think I will keep it for now!  What say you?

Oh, I like the latest one! It has a larger design to it...which I think is really eye-catching! Take care, Caroline

They're both so nice, but you should keep the smaller one- looks great with the lighting!
