Weekend Finds: Dreaming of Palm Beach

My latest finds are making me dream of sunny Palm Beach on this February day!  I'm planning to list these on One Kings Lane but wanted to share them with you first.

I first spotted this fabulous set of white lacquered fretwork furniture from the 1960's.  It is really good quality- very heavy and sturdy, made in NC.  The lacquer is in good shape- minor wear but nothing notable.

The sofa/ console table is so chic with its fretwork inlaid detailing in the top (underneath the glass) and fretwork designs on each leg.  It measures 48" long by 29" tall and 16" wide.  $450.  Will arrange shipping via uship.  Sold

It also includes a pair of end tables with the same fretwork detailing on the legs.  One of the tables has the inlaid fretwork panel underneath the glass- the other does not, but you could easily have one cut.  Each table measures 27" long, 22"wide, and 20" tall. Will arrange shipping via uship.

Finally, the set includes a pair of lacquered stools with fretwork detailing on the legs.  They have removable black cushions that could easily be covered with a bright, fun fabric!  Each measures 18.97" long, 16" wide, 16" tall.  $250 for the pair.  Ground shipping available.  Sold

Wish I needed furniture for a girls' room ... I'd snag that desk ... I grew up with the bed/nightstand from Drexel ... still have them and they are just waiting for a new home and to be painted!! xo

Seriously,#$@#? lacquered for $150! I wish I had some good sources up here in Boston. I would be charged $600 at the minimum to have that desk lacquered- it drives me insane how much they charge. Just curious, is it like a secret place that most people don't know about or is it a worshop that anyone in your area could find if they googled?

Meghan- they give me a better rate because I send them a lot, but even for an average person it wouldn't be too much more, maybe $250? It took me FOREVER to find a good resource, though.

I love seeing your antique finds. I actually just bought the same Drexel bamboo desk in Houston and had it painted BM revere pewter. I left the original hardware and I love how it turned out!
