Heavy Hearts

Let the little children come unto me, and do not hinder them, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
- Matthew 19:14

My heart is so heavy today for the families who lost their precious children in Newtown.  As a mother, I cannot imagine anything more painful than losing a child.  Saturday morning, I woke up (after a sleepless night) hoping that it was all just a bad dream.  The details are so upsetting, so I have stopped reading the news about it.  I have been hugging my children extra tightly and thanking our teachers, who make so many sacrifices for our children every day.

I pray that these grieving families in Newtown will experience love, hope, and healing this Christmas season.  They are forever in our prayers.

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.
-Psalm 34:18

Could not agree more. I had to switch channels after watching 60 minutes and crying the whole time. This hit really close to home. I am just so sad for all the families who lost a child I can not imagine anything worse. Big prayers for everyone involved.

Beautifully said.I think mothers all over the world are feeling the exact same way today. God Bless these beautiful children and their families.

Beautifully said; and thank you for recognizing that this blogging community needs to grieve.

I think the domino effect of this tragedy is that we are all hugging our kids tighter and appreciating that we have another day to be with our families.

Prayers for all families in Newtown.

Thank you. I haven't even come to a place where I can pray yet-- not because I'm too angry to, but because I just can't wrap my head around it enough to even know what to ask. Peace to all those touched by this.
