Since I've been decorating a playroom for my children, I have been noticing children's decor more than ever. And there is nothing cuter than a petite, children's version of a classic chair. Of course most children don't care whether it's from Ikea or Design Within Reach, and I don't think I could ever justify making a huge investment in children's furniture. But's always fun to dream!

Also available in wee-sized proportions and a myriad of colors is the iconic Kartell ghost chair.

Colorful bentwood chairs on sleek chrome bases are perfect for everything from tea parties to finger painting.

A replica of Arne Jacobsen's egg chair makes a cozy place to curl up with a picture book.

The more affordable (but not cheap) Ikea version is cute, too.

Baby bertoia chairs remind me of my local public library when I was a child. That's right- the children's section of the Gaston County Public Library was full of Bertoia, Eames, and Baughman. Too bad they redecorated before I knew enough to appreciate it!

But to bring back those childhood memories, there *may* be some Little Berts headed my way...

What a great post! Decisions, decisions! I just love every kind of kids' chair. That Eames rocker with ottoman is awesome!
I adore kid's chairs to begin with but I have been dreaming of of an egg chair for a long time. There is something about an already marvelous chair in a petite size that is irresistable.
I would totally go to a tea party in one of those rooms! All I know is my playroom was never this cool. Lucky kiddos!
i love how nonliteral that first nursery is!
Love the mini ghost chairs! Might have to invest in one or two in the near future!
