I am working on a kitchen project and have been searching for the perfect pendant lighting to hang over the island. My client loves the Thomas O'Brien Hicks Pendant from Visual Comfort. I love it, too.
It makes such a fabulous statement in a kitchen- modern with a late 1960's, early 1970's vibe. The bronze/ antique brass colorway (my favorite!) adds warmth to a cool-toned kitchen, and the round shape nicely contrasts with the typical kitchen's hard straight lines.

Because this pendant does make such a strong statement, it really needs to be *the* statement piece in a kitchen, so I have looked for a few alternative options that have a more subtle effect.
This clear glass pendant has the same curves as the Hicks Pendant but is more understated.
I am typically not huge on the "industrial chic" movement, but I love using an Edison bulb over a kitchen island. Also, this pendant is so well priced and available in both nickel and bronze!

This version has a slightly more glamorous vibe, and the "antique silver" finish incorporates both gold and silver with the fixture.

Finally, this sleek pendant has a definite modern edge that adds simple sophistication to a kitchen.

Such a great collection here. Timeless too. :)
If your client is amenable, please post pix of the finished product! I'd love to see this pendant in action in a "real" space.
