What a Difference a Shade Makes

My breakfast room is finally complete!  After debating what to do on my windows, I decided to order roman shades from The Shade Store.  I considered having roman shades custom made, but what I really wanted was a solid color with trim around the edges, which The Shade Store carries in their normal repertoire.  I ordered a bunch of samples from The Shade Store, and I decided on my fabric and trim.  They sent someone to come measure (he also installed them), and my shades were hung within just a couple of weeks of ordering them.  You can see 2 of the 4 windows in this picture.

Here is a "before" with the blinds that came with our house.  They just suck the style out of a room!
Before

After

One of these days I will get around to getting real pictures taken, so we can do a proper tour of the breakfast room with sourcing.  Until then, I am just thankful for no more blinds!

Sarah, it looks so beautiful! I would have trouble gettting up from my morning coffee/blogs if I could curl up on that bench!

That is really lovely and so cheerful it would be hard to have a bad morning there.

Wow I love those! I was looking for similar shades for my daughter's room and my mom ended up having to make them. Thanks for the great new reference!

This room looks gorgeous! You are so talented! The shades make such a difference. You have inspired me to get a move on getting rid of the blinds we have in our kitchen. I love the colors and patterns you used here, it's so bright and cheery!
