Our precious Sally was baptized on Sunday. It was such a special day with our immediate families. Sally wore the same white linen gown that her big brother and older cousins have worn. Their names and baptism dates are all monogrammed on the back with tonal white stitching.
Her big brother wore a white shirt and shorts that my husband wore in a wedding when he was a little boy. There is something so adorable about a little boy with knobby knees in dress shorts and knee socks.
I wore an ivory sheath dress from the awesome annual J McLaughlin sale (it was $35, seriously) and a Carolina Herrera coral tweed jacket that I stalked FOREVER at Off Fifth until I finally could afford it. I popped into Marshalls on Saturday for no good reason and almost died when I found these linen flats with patent coral toes for $35.
In our church, the parents share a blessing for the child with the congregation during the baptism. It is such a precious moment. Our blessing for Sally is from Colossians 3:12.
"And so, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience." I need to remind myself of that verse every day.
Thanks for letting me share, and I can't wait to share a fun spring table with you tomorrow!
