Friday the 13th

I have never been a superstitious person.  At least not until this past Friday.  The notion of superstitions goes against the Calvinist beliefs that have been instilled in me from birth.  However, this past Friday was April 13.  And here is what happened...
Friday afternoon, I decided to sit out on our patio to watch my children play.  I got the patio umbrella out of storage and began to put it in the table.  Somehow the umbrella was heavier than I remembered and pulled the entire table over, shattering the glass top into approximately 100000000000 pieces of glass, all over my patio.  Even my Diet Coke was not spared.

That evening, as I was recounting the day's events to my husband, he brought me a drink.  Before I took a sip, my little boy decided he wanted me to read him a book.  He thrust handed me the (board) book just as I started to take a sip, and the book knocked the glass into my mouth, chipping my front tooth.  Of course my dentist only works Monday through Thursday, so I have been living with a chipped front tooth all weekend.  But it was a good excuse to spend some quality time and money at the Smoothie King.

The broken table and broken tooth could have happened any day, not just Friday the 13th, right?

On a brighter note, the broken patio table gives me a good excuse to start re-thinking our backyard's outdoor space.  I want it to have a dining area and a living/ seating area. Here are some outdoor spaces I love.

Friday the 13th just gone, a truck ran me off a freeway into a ditch...luckly I was uninjured. Friday the 13th last year my kitchen taps exploded, flooding my kitchen. Fortunately I got a new kitchen covered by insurance out of that one ;)
I just went to book a flight and realised I would be flying Friday 13th in July. Decided to book it for Saturday 14th instead.

Wow, that must have been a very special Friday the 13th! How unfortunate for your table and even more for your tooth! On the other hand, I love your first and last images, and you must show us what you end up deciding to do!

Oh no MOS! That is awful! I hope you are feeling ok. As you know this Friday the 13th was not my lucky day either! These outdoor spaces are so beautiful. I like the tropical pink space the best!

I hate to tell you that it's pretty cheap to have a new glass top cut for your table. Never mind, go for the Chinese Chippendale.
