Running Late

On Friday, I was running late.  30 seconds late.  And that's all it took for me to miss out on buying this guy.

It's a life-size wood-and-plaster zebra, vintage of course, and completely amazing.  Can't you see him perfectly perched beneath a console table?

Look for it on the set of Homeland.  The Homeland set designer beat me to it.  And when asked if she would consider selling  to me, she curtly replied, "ABSOLUTELY NOT."

Giant plaster zebras are fabulously representative of Palm Beach style.  We saw several of them in shops along Dixie Highway

Jonathan Adler loves them too (although his zebras are more demurely sized than mine).

You win some, and you lose some.  I lost this time, but maybe another plaster zebra will come my way some day soon!

Hope she wasn't a be-otch about it. Goodness! It never hurts to ask! After all, it IS just her job! No emotional attachment to that piece for her. And you would have loved it FOREVER!!!

Saw one at Home Goods in Chicago yesterday and thought of you! Maybe your stores are carrying them too?

Hi, It is funny you have this picture up, I have a zebra similar to this one that I am considering selling. I am in Australia but am curious what it is worth. I could send you a picture to get an idea.
Thanks
Linda

I just found this post and I am considering selling a Zebra just like this one, how much do you think it would be worth. Mine is also in really good condition.
