Going for the Gourd

One of the things I love most about fall decorating is that the emphasis is on incorporating natural elements. I love the organic look of feathers, pinecones, leaves, or even fruit on the table. And of course I have long appreciated those adorable little mini pumpkins and's so easy and inexpensive to fill a bowl with them and have a great centerpiece. Or you could take it one step further like the ideas below... Gourds go gold...

I love the idea of adding little kumquats as a space filler.

If you're really motivated you can turn them into votive holders.

Or feature them like specimens under glass.

This is an awesome and inexpensive way to get a more polished look...pumpkins stacked in a tall vertical vase.

And here's a more rustic, casual look.

Of course last time I looked for these baby gourds at the grocery store they were nowhere to be found...I'm hoping Social Safeway was just having an off day. Has anyone seen them around lately? - Posted using BlogPress from my iPad

I love the gourds that look like specimen under glass! Have not seen that twist before!

Wegman's in Lake Manassas had them yesterday but I would imagine that is not actually convenient to you.
