Sooo....remember this post from a few weeks ago where I gleefully recounted my twice-in-a-lifetime find ...a match to my vintage elephant garden stool? I got the first stool last year at a thrift store in DC, and came upon the match at a random antique store in Ruckersville, VA. Look at these guys, so happy together...
And then I got back from San Francisco...jet lagged from a red eye...and walked in to see this.
Somehow my cats had managed to tip over one of the stools...how a 10 lb feline can knock over a 40 lb garden stool is beyond me. Luckily my friend who was pet sitting had alerted me to the fact that this had happened, so it wasn't a complete surprise. But it was still pretty traumatic.
So alas and alack, only the new (unpainted, of course) stool remains. However, I still have a significantly less breakable souvenir from my stop in Ruckersville...I had also picked up this vintage brass camel dish from Istanbul.
In other unexpected finds news, I happened upon this awesome small chest over the weekend at- of all places- TJ Maxx. Usually I'm not a fan of the furniture there, but I thought this was out of the ordinary. And the price was right- $150.
I'd love to see this in a beach house. But I think it would look really rad in an entry way too.
Anyway, happy Tuesday...here's hoping my remaining elephant garden stool survives the week!
