I recently had the pleasure of writing another story for the Domicile section of Atlanta's JEZEBEL Magazine. Adding a piece of Chinoiserie furniture or accessory to a room is a great way to bring instant style and sophistication to a space. I can't think of a room in my house that doesn't have one Chinoiserie piece (but I do limit to one or *maybe* two Chinoiserie pieces per room so that the decorating style doesn't feel themed or contrived). I had a great time working with all the vendors to pull together the pieces for the story, and I would happily incorporate ANY of them into my own home!
(I had the break the article into pieces for blogging purposes, so please click on each picture for a better view. To see the real deal and some other great stories, pick up a copy of the June JEZEBEL Magazine!)

I have an amazing Giveaway from the Artisans at Novica. You will love it!
My love of chinoiserie knows no bounds, love this article! I agree on keeping it to a minimum though, there is a fine line between just enough and too much. I just blogged about how I found a vintage pagoda chandelier (a lot like the one that was on MOS marketplace!) at a thrift store for $100. Maybe one of my best finds to date.
great blog, fabulous taste!

I love all of those pieces!!
Fabulous article...I love all the pictures you chose. You do such a good job of choosing accessories and balancing out a look so that it is completely classic but also fresh at the same time. I love seeing you published MOS!
For all who love the DwellStudio fabric with the peacocks, it's available at retail at all the CALICO CORNERS - CALICO HOME stores...or online at calicocorners.com. The fabric is called Vintage Plumes and it comes in colors Jade, Camel and Birch.
There are other prints and jacquard upholsteries that can complement Vintage Plumes. And you can borrow the samples to try at home to see how they work in your room.
Happy decorating!
