Ever since I moved a few months ago, I've been looking for a new return address stamp. Of course, I can never just do things the *easy* way and order one from Office Depot and be done with it. I decided to take a gander on Etsy for something less run of the mill and found a variety of sellers making gorgeous custom calligraphy return address stamps- they hand letter the calligraphy and then laser-engrave it into a stamp. Genius! I may never write my address again...
I'm going to order the "Katie" style from TrialbyCupcakes. She also offers self-inking stamps (which is great for someone like me who will inevitably end up covered in ink if I try to use an actual inkpad). This seller seems to have the best combination of style and value- $35 for a regular stamp and $45 for a self inking stamp- and has several calligraphy styles to choose from.
A bit pricier- and I'm not sure this is available in self-inking- but this Custom address stamp by Angeliqueink is simply exquisite, isn't it?
For something a bit less formal, I love the whimsical Custom address stamp by Lettergirl. She has a variety of darling styles to choose from. You can pick from many fonts and add whatever graphic embellishment you so desire.
Another gorgeous one- the Holly style by Emillies. Isn't it amazing people can actually write like that? And that what you're seeing is a stamp, and not actual calligraphy?
And of course, something low key- but still very stylish- is the Typewriter style by NoteTrunk. I love how retro it is.
Calligraphy is always looked at as such a "one time only" luxury- something to be used for wedding invitations or formal dinner menus, but not many times in between. Thus, I love the idea of a calligraphy stamp that can be used over and over, adding a touch of elegance to day to day life. Wouldn't these be a fabulous gift for someone who loves paper? And when the recipients of my letters remark that I have such amazing handwriting, of course I'll just smile and nod! Ha!
