Poodles Are the New Owl

After spending the weekend in Palm Beach, I have a new favorite animal- a poodle.  So many shops we went in had fabulous vintage poodle statues standing guard by the door.  Or in a jewelry display case, adorned with jeweled necklaces.  I don't know that I would necessarily want a high maintenance poodle as a pet (although I hear they are very smart), but there is something indescribably chic and elegant about poodles. This poodle greeted visitors at the chic Palm Beach store Sequin, where we bought a boatload of (affordable) bangles and jewelry!

Another Palm Beach poodle (and wow what a view!)

The combo of fur and cigarettes are a political correctness nightmare, but this woman exudes style and confidence.

Who can forget Joan Collins and her pet poodle that she dyed pink?!

No one captures Palm Beach style quite as well as Jonathan Adler.  How about this pair of hot pink lifesize poodles in his Barbie Malibu Dreamhouse?

To add a touch of Hollywood Regency style to your home with poodles, this pair of marble poodle bookends (made in Italy) is amazing.

And I always LOVE the vintage French poodle trays.

I picked up two vintage French poodle trays at Decatur Estates that I have hanging in my living room.  If you like them, there is a set on etsy here, for an amazing price!

And finally, one of my favorite Palm Beach purchases...  MoS Washington and I were on the way home and ran by the Goodwill in Delray (where she found her fabulous bench).  Right when we walked into the Boutique section, I spotted this pair of vintage poodles.  I think they will be *perfect* for baby GIRL's nursery!

I have never been the biggest poodle fan, they are fabulous dogs, however, and for all those lovely ladies who had them they are very smart, don't shed, and are hypoallergenic! I love all the decorative accessories shown here, and how they can be both serious and regal as well as kitchy and fun. Great finds!

Who knew poodles could be so cute?! Not sure my husband would think the same...

That is going to be one ADORABLE girl nursery!

I must have a deeply hidden love for poodles, I have a little maltipoo and a dinky labradoodle. Sometimes when my maltipoo gets groomed she totally looks like a poodle. Love my dogs. And I think you have convinced me I need some poddle decor, stat! Thank you for sharing, I think you have discovered a new decor trend here.

If Henry and Charlie had been girls, I would have used the Schumacher fabric Views of Paris ... and there would have been some Parisian poodles in the decor!!
