Covering walls in grasscloth wallpaper is one of the most beautiful ways to add warmth and texture to a room. Grasscloth walls are classic, and they look good in a variety of styles, from a casual beach house to even the most formal Manhattan apartment. In a room that is lacking in strong architectural details, grasscloth adds visual interest without being too overwhelming. It's not as busy as traditional wallpaper patterns, and it is available in nearly every color you can imagine. Grasscloth adds an extra layer of dimension that you can't accomplish with paint alone. Although I don't have any in my home at the moment, it's on my list!

I don't know the first thing about hanging wallpaper, but it seems to me like it might be worth paying a professional to do the job right. Phillip Jeffries Ltd is one of the best-known sources of grasscloth wallpaper, carrying a variety of grasscloth colors and textural patterns. Do you have grasscloth walls in your house?

Check out Twenty2.com I love their grasscloths and they are so affordable.
What a great post! I saw a recent post of Kate Spade's home with some grasscloth in her bedroom, with abstract art set against it. It looks sooo good. I posted a picture of it on my blog if you want to take a look! I plan to do something similar in our house when we build - I'm excited to use it and don't think I'll grow tired of it.
Grasscloth is also on my list when we re-build...it adds so much warmth!! Thanks for the source! Take care, Caroline
The only thing that bothers me about grasscloth are how the seams show. Otherwise I love it.
I LOVE grasscloth- that bluey/grey office is one of my favourite rooms of all time- gorgeous!
Grasscloth is great, but just remember to avoid those "creative" colorways and combinations from the 70s. It is difficult to install so a professional paperhanger is recommended. And no, it is not a myth, grasscloth is made from Kudzu, that overpowering vine planted by the WPA in the 1930s to prevent soil erosion across the South.
We do and I love it.
I had grasscloth in the foyer of my former home and loved it. Unfortunately my cats did also...It provides a great look.
I really want to try grasscloth - love the texture...
We are loving the coastal living rooms!
