Friday Thrifting Highlights

As we've mentioned before, West Palm Beach is one of the best places to thrift, and a quick run down Dixie Highway yesterday while I was in town proved to be no exception.

Get a load of this FANTASTIC sofa (with matching chairs that you can see on the left). This was spotted at the Animal Rescue Leage thrift store. Though pairing such a bright, eye-catching print with the lines of a more traditional sofa seems like a more recent trend, it actually looked to me like the upholstry on this sofa was vintage. Maybe 60's or 70's? It was sold, so at least I couldn't feel tempted.

And on to Goodwill, where this 5 piece faux bamboo bedroom set was- get this- $150. That included the dresser, king size head board, fanstastic greek key mirror, and two nightstands.

$150 just for the mirror wouldn't have been a bad price, but $150 for everything? Insane!

Someone please go to Goodwill and give this set a good home!

Oh my...that is incredible!!!! There was a set on the DC CL that wasn't even that nice for $1000 and I know it sold. I hope that person never sees this...yikes!

Love the sofa and the mirror -- what great finds! My goodwill only ever has rather smelly '80s stuff.

I wish my Goodwill had great furniture like that.

Wishing I was there...

Insanely awesome finds! Miami and West Palm beach have the best vintage shopping around. Not surprised even Goodwill rocks.

I am SICK that I am nowhere near that WPB Goodwill! I check the Goodwill stores all around where I live and there is NEVER anything that wonderful to be had there!

Please tell us the address of this Goodwill store and the Animal Rescue League Thrift shop so I may plan our next family vacation nearby! Oh, such fantastic finds!

Wow, you have some great finds in your area. Such great pieces are harder to come by where I am. Thankfully though, many who are looking to have pieces rehabbed are getting in touch with me for assistance.
