There is a fantastic Yves Saint Laurent retrospective going on at the Petit Palace in Paris and I was thrilled to be able to attend the exhibit on Tuesday. It's a comprehensive look at highlights from his career ranging from pieces he designed when still working for Christian Dior to pieces from his last collection. There were roughly 400 garments on display and it was breathtaking to see them all in person! I think I could go back every day for a week and never get bored. One highlight was an entire soaring wall covered in mannequins all wearing pieces from the Smoking collection from over the years. Totally dramatic. And then, of course, there were the dresses...I was coveting a gold lame number from 1980!
