I will admit that I am a Cindy Crawford for JC Penney veteran, as I (along with everyone else in the design blogosphere) bought the faux bamboo footstool a while back. But not realizing what a wealth of affordably chic furniture and accessories Cindy has designed, I hadn't checked out the JCP website in a while. When I was reading Aesthetic Oiseau the other day, Daniela posted about a pair of obelisks from Cindy Crawford's line for JC Penney. I thought I would check out what she has to offer, and boy I was not disappointed!
How cute are these red and orange plates? They also come in turquoise and green and are a great way to brighten up your table for summer.
Flora Plates, $20 for set of 4
Isn't this metal bookshelf with fretwork detailing so pretty? I'd scrap the "java" (*shudder*) paint in a heartbeat (maybe turquoise or red instead?) and style it a bit, and we bet you'd never guess it was from JCP!
Trellis Bookshelf, $100
Wouldn't this cane-bordered indoor/ outdoor rug be perfect in a room that sees alot of action? And only $200 for an 8x10- you can't beat that!
Cane-border Rug, $200 for 8x10
I am loving this ceramic bamboo-handled pitcher. So pretty for your summertime entertaining! While I wouldn't normally advocate spending only $20 on a wedding gift, gosh, this is just such a pretty pitcher (and I would have loved to receive it as a wedding gift, regardless of the price). It would be a great hostess gift too!
Etageres are such an elegant way to display your books and collectibles. Once again, we'd forgo the "metallic java" finish and paint it a glossy black or maybe white.
Etagere, $165
This lamp looks so pretty. I bought a lamp at JCP several years ago and was amazed at how good the quality was. This lamp's details look much nicer than its $50 counterparts that you would find at Homegoods.
Aqua Ceramic Lamp, $80 including shade
How fun are these orange cane-print placemats for summer? Use them indoors or out! These too would make a great hostess gift or wedding shower gift!
Orange Cane Pattern Placemats, $10 for set of 4
The footstool seen round the world... Check out my quickie DIY makeover here.
Faux Bamboo Footstool, $100
And of course, what drove me to check out the JCP website in the first place... These would be so pretty on a bookshelf (maybe the one above or the etagere).
Pair of Obelisks, $24
We will certainly admit that some of her designs leave a little something to be desired. For instance:
A polyester valance...
This $160 vase...
Or this necklace, which could easily be mistaken for something with "lots of danglization" and "sparklization," as described by the long-finger-nailed girls on Jewelry Television...
But in spite of a few misses, her collection does seem to have some hits! Will you be buying any of it?

Thanks for the shopping enabling. I just ordered the harlequin rug and 2 footstools for my house. My visa and I are going to be quiet now.
I am SO going to check out the etagere! I have an odd space in a hallway that I have known for a while NEEDED a piece such as this - I think I may do it in a red laquer look however.....thanks!
