Baby boy was baptized yesterday. It was such a special day, being back at the church where I grew up with family and friends. He wore a white linen bubble suit that my mother in law made under a white linen christening dress.
Each of the cousins wears the dress and has their name and date of the baptism embroidered on the linen with tone-on-tone thread. Linen is the perfect fabric to monogram or embroider. The contrast between the casual nature of linen fabric and the formality of a monogram is just perfect.
The pretty white linen dress has me thinking about the texture, color, and uniqueness of linen. It is light and airy and organic, and it symbolizes summer perhaps better than any other fabric. It breathes, making it the perfect fabric for warm weather fashion. However, everyone knows the one big downside of linen- WRINKLES. I'll admit that I don't wear it too often because of the tendency to wrinkle, but I love the idea of it, especially in home decor.
Gray linen walls add texture and warmth to this bedroom.
A simple cream colored linen chair is so chic in this Daryl Carter-designed space.
Linen sofas are so elegant. My guess is that when the fabric is pulled this tightly over the cushions, there isn't too much wrinkling. Can anyone confirm this?

Linen is the perfect fabric for upholstering a headboard and footboard.
In one of my favorite nurseries, a linen bergere chair is so chic. Although I will be the first to admit that this chair isn't very practical for a nursery. You need a comfier arm for sure!
We certainly aren't fans of shabby chic, but this worn slipper chair is gorgeous paired with a shiny white lacquered desk and pretty brass lamps.
Oscar de la Renta's fabric line for Lee Joffa includes several gorgeous linens. This Century bed is upholstered in one of his linen patterns. Just a tip for Charlotte readers- The Boulevard on Griffin Street is a great resource for Oscar de la Renta for Century pieces and fabric. I once found some navy ODLR linen with white starfish for $1/yard there.

White linen sofas look so comfy, cozy, and welcoming.
The natural linen sofa is gorgeous in this French-chic living room. This room is an example of neutrals done right.
Another beautiful linen upholstered headboard and footboard...

This Pottery Barn hemstitch throw pillow is so pretty in a bedroom.
Tissue boxes are definitely meant to be covered up. We love the one in the background of this picture, and you can't beat the price.
Linen monogrammed cocktail napkins are such a good hostess gift.
Monogrammed Hemstitch Cocktail Napkins, $38 for 4
Everyone needs linen dinner napkins. I use mine all the time- white is nice because you can just bleach them. But I also love all of these fun colors (like coral!).
This linen pillow is so pretty and feminine. Gorgeous in a guest room, little girl's room, or on a chair on your bedroom.
This linen settee from Wisteria is absolutely gorgeous. It would really work in so many different rooms.
Linen Settee, $1400
I've been thinking about an upholstered ottoman in lieu of a coffee table as baby boy starts moving around more, and this one is definitely on my list. The tufted linen is just gorgeous. But I don't know that linen is the most stain-resistant fabric...
