Great find! I like the lines of it, too. I think it'd be great to paint it in a bold, bright (high gloss) color. Have fun!

You know me, lacquer it! Where are you planning to put it?

I have a headboard almost just like that, maybe a little more scrolly. Got mine at a thrift store! Love that you snatched it up, pencil skirt, pearls & all!
I'm going to repaint mine and move it from the guest bedroom to master!

Who would throw that out when a little paint could work wonders?!

DIY projects are the best! I spotted a great end table in the trash on the sde of the street in Manhattan for a client with a tight budget. We are in the process of deciding on paint. So fun!

I think a dark burgundy or even a rich purple would work wonderfully. It would add that bit of regalia that I'm a huge fan of. If you want more of an airy feel, I think a pale blue would accent the lines of the headboard. Great find! I'm sure whatever you choose will look great.

That would look darling as a crib headboard! Usually you do not see things like this along Providence road! Great find :)
