Three Cheers for Black and Gold!

Lately we can't get enough black and gold- one of our very favorite color combinations. The pairing of classic, understated black set off by a pop of glitzy gold is one we never get tired of, both in our own homes and in our closets.

It's basketball season and we're usually rooting for the Demon Deacons- perhaps that's the source of our inspiration?

A magnificent black and gold desk in this Amy Fine Collins room.

The epitome of black and gold style- the Dorothy Draper Espana Chest, one of our very favorite classic pieces of furniture. This could go in so many rooms and blend well with so many styles. They are pricey on 1st dibs but we see them come up on Etsy and Ebay quite a bit too.

Do we see a peek of an Espana chest in the photo below? Either way, we're also digging the black and gold trunk. Elle Decor

And of course, let's not forget the black and gold desk that MoS Charlotte transformed - fabulous!

One of our favorite rooms we've featured before. Love when the "gold" comes from the color of natural bamboo motifs, like in the wallpaper shown here and above..

And don't forget your closet! We love throwing on a black dress or top and then pairing it with some striking gold jewelry- the bigger the better!

Awesome, awesome, AWESOMENESS! We have a desk almost identical to Charlotte's - a hand-me-down from my husband's grandparents - wonder if he'd let me do a little makeover?? Hmmmm....He IS out of town this week ;)

Great post! I'm in love with the Bob Collins trellis...would actually love to find it for my bathroom. Any suggestions on where to find the wallpaper? Or have you seen any great trellis prints that are similar? Thanks for all of your posts, I visit everyday!!

I'm a Deac fan and lover of black and gold too! In fact, so much so that I had a black and gold wedding.

Lo- we have a feeling that Bob Collins is to the trade only, and can't find a phone number. We found this contact info an another blog- maybe give it a try? "Bob Collins- (800) 282-9971. The pattern is Chinese Lattice V-1031."
