Back in our Needlepoint Roundup post we mentioned how much we loved the fabulous needleponit kits from Baltimore-based Jenny Henry Designs. They're classic without being stuffy, and many include modern chinoiserie inspired designs such as koi and greek key motifs, and lattice designs, which are right up our alley.
We're so excited to announce that Jenny Henry Designs has very generously offered to give one lucky Matters of Style reader a red cassette tape needlepoint kit! This is one of my favorite designs- I love the whimsical juxtaposition of 80's technology with classic needlepoint. You won't find anything else like this in the needlepoint world. Wouldn't this be an adorable little clutch, or a perfect makeup bag for throwing in in your purse?

The kit includes thread, canvas, instructions, needles, and a tool charm bracelet. They retail on the Jenny Henry site for $95!

Jenny Henry Designs also has a wonderful selection of smaller projects- such as frames, coin purses, box tops, and passport covers- even a needlepoint commitmentphobe like me might just be able to finish one of her lovely kits! Her designs are available at fine needlepoint stores nationwide- check out her where to buy page to see the one closest to you.
Some of our favorites- the knotwork frame and the argyle passport cover. Wouldn't this frame be a superb gift for your favorite mom-to-be?

1) Check out the Jenny Henry Designs website and then leave us a comment telling us your favorite pattern; and

I love these designs! My favorite is the Empress picture frame-the colors are wonderful! Thank you so much for posting about a contemporary needlepoint designer. Sometimes it can be so difficult to find contemporary designers!
Thanks!
Love all of these designs; makes me think I might finally take up needlepointing! My favs are the coi clutch and the knotted frame monogram pillow. Darling!
What a wonderful find! Although I think all of the designs are just lovely, especially the Blue Knot Frame, I think my favorite really is the cassette tape pouch!
I love all of them! My favorites are the picture frames. I really like the basketweave and the blue diamond! Loucinda
I like the knotwork frame! xx
Awesome!!!!!! I love the box tops....any of the blue ones are absolutely gorgeous!!
Thanks MoS gals :)
Wow! You have made needlepoint look so fun! My favorite is the true love clutch! Let me know when you make it in a kit!
I've never done needlepoint before, but its something that I've always wanted to try. I really like the Eyeglass Case in the basket weave pattern.
After looking at all the designs, I still think the cassette tape is the raddest thing I've ever seen in needlepoint. When I needlepointed as a kid it was all flowers and cute animals...who knew it could be so modernly cute. Looks like I'm gonna have to pick it up again.
These designs are so lovely! I'm especially liking the overlapping circles and Empress designs on pretty much anything! (Although I still think the cassette tape design in my favourite. :-)
As another Jen, I gotta say I love the cassette tape! I think I still have a stack of the those red and black cassettes in a box somewhere. Ah the memories!
The black koi design is amazing, but I can really see myself using the cassette tape clutch!
Hello
I like the Black Wave or tea time design - I like it in the passport holder.
Wow, I haven't thought about doing needlepoint in decades, but these are awesome -- especially like the emperor designs -- the eyeglass case for my ma, who taught me needlepoint!
I am all sorts of in love with the Gold Tie Passport case - what a lovely way to travel! (Second runner up: Tea Time! Loves it!)
What a great artist! My favorites are the passport covers - great patterns, and a great idea for a practical item to feature them.
I love this casette design, the passport covers are also pretty cool.
I would get a passport just to make the Blue Diamonds passport case to put it in! :-) It reminds me both of greece, and Dr Who, the Pompei episode.
As a gall who wears glasses, I'm loving her eyeglass cases - especially the Tea Time pattern (the colors are lovely!)
Of course, the tape cassette clutch reigns supreme - just pure awesomeness.

Cheers!
Love the knotwork picture frame. Great contest!
I love needlepoint. I have made (and finished) many projects. I even made my 27 year old a belt with little green frogs and one of the frogs is wearing a gold prince crown. I gave it to her in when she was in college and said, YOU HAVE TO KISS A LOT OF TOADS BEFORE YOU FIND YOUR PRINCE CHARMING. But I digress, I love all the designs but I really love the tape cassette case, cuz I even remember eight tracks!!! Thanks for your awesome blog!
It's between the Koi clutch and the cassette tape for me. What neat designs altogether, though! I dig.
I really like the eyeglass cases. More then likely because I wear glasses.
I'm torn between the cassette design and the tea time passport case - I think I like them both the same but would have to go with the cassette because its so darn kitschy!
I like all clutches there, but my favorite is Floral Clutch, I like the B&W background and colourful flower
I looked through the frames and pouches and whatnot and my far and away favorite is definitely the cassette tape! I also really like the "needlepoint rocks" boombox in her flikr pool, but don't see a pattern for it on the site. SO excited about this contest!!
My favourite? It´s a hard choice, but I think it´s of cause the mixtape pouch and the Liam box! 100 points!
regards from germany,
Christiane
I love the teatime picture frame. Thanks for a chance to win the needlepoint cassette case.
I am loving the emperor, especially using the aqua and red colors.
