Happy New Year! New Years Day typically doesn't receive as much attention as New Years Eve, but it is still a fun day, rich with tradition. I'll admit that many New Years Days in my past involved sleeping late, hair of the dog, an afternoon oyster roast, and swearing I would never do it again... But now that we are responsible adults (ha), here are some New Year's traditions we will love to remember.
The Rose Parade. Admiring the beautiful floats made of flowers- these are the handiwork of some truly talented artists. You can watch it at 11am eastern time on NBC, ABC, or HGTV.
After the Rose Parade, we'll be enjoying a traditional New Years Day meal of:
Black Eyes Peas
After lunch, it's football time! You can catch a bowl game or two in the afternoon. The Rose Bowl, Gator Bowl, Outback Bowl, Capital One Bowl, Sugar Bowl, Citrus Bowl, and several others will be played on New Years Day.
And if football isn't your thing, you can check out Sarah's House on HGTV at 3 and 3:30 eastern time. I fell in love with her show Design, Inc. on Martha Stewart's Fine Living Network. Sarah Richardson is such a talented designer, a welcome change to so many (or all?!) of the design shows on HGTV. We think you will love her as much as we do!
Happy New Year from MoS!!!
