MoS Holiday Gift Guide: Stocking Stuffers and Gifts Under $50

MoS Washington and I have to admit that we have probably been a little bit spoiled when it comes to stocking stuffers, as Santa has always shopped year-round to find just the perfect gifts to fill up our stockings.  You won't find any oranges or apples or walnuts taking up valuable stocking space in our stockings!  And we have to admit that when flipping through the delightful "Gift Guides" in December magazines, the gifts under $50 excite us the most!  These gifts are proof that you can give a gift that is thoughtful, creative, and unique without breaking the bank.

Here are some of our favorites:

Gifts for Her:

Bright bangles are a fun accessory any time of the year!  This is definitely something you find in your stocking on Christmas morning that you end up wearing all day long! We'd pair this pink and red striped bangle with a cashmere sweater, jeans, and some comfy ballet flats.

Leave it to Tory Burch to find a way to make rainy days more fun!  Her navy and white 3T Umbrella is small and compact so it easily fits into your bag, and of course, like all things TB, it is so cute!

Even in the age of Outlook, BlackBerries, and iPhones, a cute, paper calendar is hard to beat.  It's nice to be able to jot down notes, and almost all of us probably write some things on our calendars that we don't necessarily want any coworkers or the IT guy to be able to access!

Luggage tags are always a fun accessory for the girl who has everything!  And these folks probably couldn't have gotten away with so much loot if more travelers had distinguishing tags like these on their basic black rolling suitcases!

These leather business card cases are the perfect solution to that stack of cards that is always floating around in my bag.  These cases would also be perfect to use as a little wallet with a clutch, like MoS Washington did with her silver cigarette case here

Sometimes you just need a new keychain!  I carried the same silver Tiffany one from my 16th birthday until recently when I replaced it with a needlepoint keychain from Smathers & Branson.

Scarves are such a fun and necessary accessory and the perfect way to brighten up any cold-weather look!

Maybe we are getting old, but now the thought of getting new slippers for Christmas makes us pretty darn happy!  Especially when they look like adorable ballet flats and come in such fun colors!

LL Bean Primrose Slippers, $24.95 and J Crew Solid Wool Ballet Slippers, $50

Every girl loves fun hair accessories!

Beauty products are always a welcome gift.  Lipglosses seem to always disappear, so it never hurts to have a few more.  And Jo Malone is our go-to fragrance designer of choice.

Bobbi Brown Lip Gloss Trio, $40 and Jo Malone Travel Candle, $35

For Him:

Fancy products are a guilty pleasure for so many guys I know.  My husband is a perfect example.  He loves using all my products (sorry to spill the beans, honey), but he would never in a million years go to the Kiehls counter himself!  I gave him an Art of Shaving gift set a few years back, and he absolutely loves it.  Apparently using a brush rather than good old Barbasol makes a big difference!

LL Bean's Wicked Good Moccasin Slippers really do live up to all the hype!  They are so incredibly soft and comfortable that you'll want to wear them out and about (but please don't!).

Every guy needs a Leatherman tool (or three!).  They are so compact and useful- I think my husband has one in every jacket pocket, every vehicle, etc.  Pliers, a knife, a bottle opener, wire cutters, all rolled into one handy dandy package!

For Home:

Have you always wanted a piece of monogrammed servewear, but you can't decide if a monogram would limit where you could use the item in your home? Dabney Lee offers the perfect solution with their monogram decal. It is perfect for making your elegant ice bucket more casual and fun! But when the party is over, you can remove the decal and enjoy your crystal just as it was before.

Mountain cabins aside, we have never really thought of Orvis as a place for cute home furnishings.  But when we spotted this owl (ha), we fell in love with the colors (and the price!).

This fun turquoise and white ikat pillow cover is perfect to brighten any room!

No bar is complete without a good cocktail shaker.  This little penguin shaker is sure to put anyone in the holiday spirit!

And we can't resist a pair of foo dogs.  They add style and sophistication to any space, and to be honest, we really can't tell the difference between a set that costs $50 and a set that costs $5,000.  You could use these as bookends or just as decorative objects on a console table.
