While flipping through my new November design magazines, I was stunned to see an article on the line Nate Berkus has done for Home Shopping Network. I'll admit I have never watched HSN, and I certainly never thought of it as being a good resource for home decor items. So many of their items are just plain fug.
But wow, the Nate Berkus line is CUTE (not unlike its designer)!!! Upon closer inspection, I see that Carleton Varney and John Robshaw also have lines at HSN. I have to say that I don't think Dottie Draper would approve of Mr. Varney's line. And while John Robshaw's pillows are fab, the prices are still pretty high. So the line by Nate Berkus definitely takes the cake!
And you are going to die at how low the prices are!!! And of course what other store other than HSN would allow you to divide your purchase into 2, 3, or even 4 easy payments depending on the price :-)
This equestrian-inspired pillow reminds us of an Hermes or Ralph Lauren scarf. It is such a cute update to add to your sofa or bed for Fall! You know how much we love our navy!
Isn't this kelly green and navy pillow in a fun necktie stripe so perfect?! You could use this pillow anywhere in your home!
To add some glamour to your room, how about this white and gold (crewel?) throw pillow? We would love a pair of these on a bed.
Trellis prints are so fresh and modern, and they are perfect on a soft rug! Yes, this might be "inspired" by the real deal, but honestly, the flokati makes it unique enough that it doesn't bother us!
A striped kilim rug is a classic. We love kilims for their durability, the fact that you can flip them over if heaven forbid they end up covered in doggie footprints, and how comfy they are on your feet! We think these striped kilims in orange, chocolate, and navy are absolutely fabulous! And you definitely can't beat the price- $160 for an 8x10!!!!
This woven wool rug is a perfect neutral rug. The pattern is fun and interesting, and we think the colors make it PERFECT for wearing well and hiding any dirt. Great price on this one too!
Zigzags and chevron prints always modernize a room!! This fab throw comes in black-and-white or in these lovely neutral hues. Either one would be fabulous depending on your room!!
Elements of nature are always a welcome addition to any room. Here, Nate has designed an end table with a gold tree branch base. We have mixed feelings on the unframed glass top (definitely not a kid-friendly piece), but we love the base!
Gold + Mirror+ Greek Key Motif? Yes please. This tray is absolutely fabulous- it would be so gorgeous on a coffee table, and trays are so practical and useful as well as pretty!
Sunburst mirrors are such a classic modern-yet-vintage touch to any room. We like Nate's twist on the traditional gold leaf sunburst mirror, using wood instead.
A brass lamp with a black shade is oh-so-chic. It instantly adds glamour and coziness to a room. The shape of this lamp is so interesting and unique- we would use this in a den or on a desk in a study.
This octagonal ottoman is the PERFECT combination of coffee table, source of extra seating, and a place to prop up your feet (with a baby on the way I have a newfound appreciation for this aspect). We love the fab kelly green color and the contrasting strip on the skirt! It's not cheap, but it definitely looks more expensive than it is!
And for the piece de resistance... we are absolutely in love with this navy velvet sofa. The shape of the cushions, the dainty turned legs- it is just perfection. It comes in 11 different fabrics. Did we mention that it's only $500??!! (or, 4 easy payments of $124.98 if you really need to justify the purchase!). If we had a place for it we would snatch it up in a heartbeat!
What do you think about this line? Can anyone weigh in on the quality? It sure looks good to us!!
