Conde Nast announced today that it's curtains for Gourmet, Cookie, Modern Bride, and Elegant Bride. Understandably, the blogosphere seems most shaken up over the demise of Gourmet, which at 70+ years strong was the nation's oldest food magazine. And although as childless 20-somethings we weren't exactly Cookie's target demographic, in the couple of times we picked up the mag in the doctor's waiting room we always enjoyed the unfussy, stylish tips for young moms.
Let's hope this round of magazine foldings is the last for a while!

This is such a bummer! I love Gourmet for so many reasons beyond just the recipes! As for Cookie, I too read it even though I don't have kids yet. Can't pass up a good magazine!
Agreed! Still stunned over Modern Bride and Gourmet.
No! It's so sad! I cannot take it - I loved Gourmet even though it was so far above what I could even hope to cook. This really bums me out a wee bit. I'll miss it.
As a "trying to be hip" young mom, I loved Cookie Magazine and am totally bummed that I won't be pulling it out of my mailbox each month. :((
