We've never been ones to go all out decorating our homes for fall. We particularly dislike the fake fall leaves you see "scattered about" a table, or the horn of plenty full of fake fruit and nuts. But, there are a few things we like to do to make our homes cozier for the cooler weather that is ahead. Think swapping out seashells, rattan, and coral for antlers, leather, feathers, and wood. Trading out the soft cotton throw for something cashmere (and monogrammed). Replacing the fern in the fireplace with a pretty screen and adding a basket of firewood on the side.
Here are some cozy rooms that make us want to curl up with a good book!

Here are some easy ways to incorporate these cozy looks into your home!
This Anthro pillow is such a fun flashback to a vintage wool sweater. And it comes in yellow and brown!
We love a "bouquet" of elegant pheasant feathers displayed in a pretty silver mint julep cup. You can find the feathers for next to nothing on ebay!
As much as we dislike fake fall leaves, we love these leafy candles from Z Gallerie! And they are unscented, so they won't compete with any tasty smells coming from your kitchen!
There is something we love about the elegant lines of this wooden lamp with a linen shade. Switch out the clear glass ball lamp you have in your den for this gorgeous turned wood lamp. It adds instant coziness to your room!
For your fall table, how cute is this pewter pheasant gravy boat? We find ourselves using gravy boats for all sorts of things when entertaining, from sauces to salad dressings, to even appetizer nuts.
Is there any logic behind our scoffing at fake fall leaves but thinking these rattan and mercury glass pumpkins are so cute?!
These pheasant feather hand towels are perfect for your powder room. They also make a great fall hostess gift!
If my dad, an avid hunter, read MoS and saw that we included a chandelier from Cabelas, he would think he had died and gone to heaven. We think antler chandeliers can be totally fab in the right setting, and we love that this one is a reproduction so all the little deer are still safe!
These painted pheasant salad plates are yet another reason why we love white dinnerware. It is so easy to mix in seasonal accent pieces that work with your existing set!
What better way to hold your firewood than a big jute basket?! Even if you have gas logs, we think a bin of firewood adds instant coziness and warmth to a room!
Sunflowers (no, not the gagworthy perfume we LOVED in the 4th grade) are such a bright spot in Fall's cooler weather. We loved Eddie Ross's post about them here. Wouldn't this sunflower mirror be pretty in an entryway or over your fireplace?
A soft and fluffy sheepskin pillow is the perfect cool weather addition to your sofa.
We love brass apothecary lamps, and this table lamp version from Williams Sonoma Home fits the bill just perfectly!
If you can afford to splurge, how about doing so on this fabulous cashmere throw from Leontine Linens. At $1500 it certainly is not a bargain, but this is something you will have for years to come! And we are loving the monogram inside the quatrefoil!
Are you doing anything special to make your home cozy for fall? Tell us about it!

A few things.
1. Brilliant post! I love the idea of switching out accessories to "season" a room.
2. I've been wanting the West Elm sheepskin pillow since I saw it in the store a few weeks ago. It feels heavenly in person.
3. Love the monogrammed throws.
4. How would you use the feathers?? (maybe a post idea on its own!)
Thanks for this! So many great ideas. Have a good one.
I usually toss the Cabella's catalog in the trash when it arrives for my husband, but I may have to take another look at their antler decor...I promise I will not match it with John Deere bedding though!
Love a cozy room. I have never met a blanket or throw that I didn't like!
I love the idea of the PB pheasant gravy boat and the decorative little squirrels my kitchen table for the Fall!
Lots of great ideas here. I love the pumpkins from Pottery Barn and the blankets from West Elm!
