Friday Steal of the Day- Pottery Barn Outlet!

If you have a Pottery Barn outlet close by, definitely check it out!  My closest one is an hour away, which is a bit of a pain.  But totally worth it.  They have tons of items from Pottery Barn, West Elm, and even a few from Williams-Sonoma Home!

I went today to find a rug for my living room.  I previously had SISAL there, but SISAL and dogs just don't mix.  I had tried every hint and tip from Martha Stewart for cleaning it, and nothing worked.  So I headed down to the Pottery Barn outlet, hoping I could find something good.

And I did!   An 8x10 Williams-Sonoma Home wool rug in a fab Greek key pattern with the original $2160 tags on it.  The outlet price was marked $795 and then lowered to $695.  I told the guy that this was more than I wanted to spend, so he said, "How about $488?"  I told him that was still more, so I needed to keep looking.  He said, "How about $224.99?"  SOLD.  I have no clue if they typically will negotiate with customers or if today was just my lucky day.  But somehow I scored the rug below for about 90% off retail!  I can't get it out of my car until my husband gets home, but I will take some pictures of it in the room later on.

My other find was a set of Pottery Barn pillow shams in this fun red ikat fabric.  Originally marked $29.99, down to $.47!!  Sounds too good to be true, I know!  Not sure where I will use them, but they are cute and fun and were less than two quarters!

Have you had good luck at a Pottery Barn Outlet before?  Tell us what you have found!

PLEASE NOTE THAT I EDITED TO CLARIFY THAT MY BAD RUG EXPERIENCE WAS WITH A SISAL RUG, NOT A SEAGRASS RUG.  I HAVE A SEAGRASS RUG THAT HAS HELD UP JUST FINE WITH THE DOG.  SORRY FOR ANY CONFUSION!!

So jealous!!! If you see WS Home stuff at the Pottery Barn outlet I definitely recommend snapping it up because it will not be there next time you visit. Can't believe you fit an 8x10 rug in the back seat of your car :-)

I love the PB outlet! The closest to me is 2.5 hrs away, so I'm jealous of your 1 hour commute. There are amazing deals to be had!

i love pb outlet! i recently scored two architectural wall lamps for $7.00 each! at the time they were still on the website for $159.00 each. i have a friend who used to work for pb and she said ALWAYS negotiate...they just want to move the stuff...they will always bargain with you. if they don't, find a manager that will.

Fill me in...I have been thinking of getting a seagrass rug for a while now and I have a dog. I saw that Joni from Cote de Texas swears by the material and I'm pretty sure she has pets.

I'm nervous now...about to change my plan! What was your experience with seagrass?

Yes, please expand on the seagrass meets dog experience. I am considering the same.

Eeek, I think I misspoke when I called the rug seagrass. I did a little research, and I think it was sisal rather than seagrass. Basically a wet spot on sisal will ALWAYS looks like a wet spot. There is nothing you can do about it. I do have a seagrass rug that has held up fine. Just avoid SISAL with dogs. Sorry about any confusion!
