We love that wallpaper's popularity is regaining momentum! Whether you use it to make a dramatic statement in your entryway or powder room, or even a dining room or bedroom, it instantly adds style to your home.
Our favorite wallpapers are accented with birds and bamboo! Our favorite wallpaper designers are De Gournay, Fromental, and Gracie- their papers really are works of art. We have yet to find an inexpensive alternative- if you know of one, please share it with us!
How gorgeous is this yellow and white room designed by Kelly Wearstler for Trina Turk? We are in love with the wallpaper, the chair, and of course, the elephant side table. While this particular look is in a shop, we think it would be stunning in your home!
This bedroom has long been one of our favorites! The rug, the lamps, and most importantly, the fabulous birdy wallpaper! It is so peaceful for a bedroom. (and for the lamps, check out the Christopher Spitzmiller sale mentioned here).
This formal dining room looks beautiful with a bird wallpapered accent wall. We have mixed feelings about accent walls, but this one works. We think the room would be too dark with this particular wallpaper on all of the walls, so Ruthie made a good choice here. We especially love it with her fabric choices, the cherry blossoms in urns, and the chippendale style armchairs.
We have to admit we typically find designs by White House designer Michael S. Smith to be a bit on the dull side. Here, we love his use of the gray bird wallpaper. But we wish he had done something a little more exciting with the bedding. Simple bedding would be fine, but to be frank, this is just a little drab and takes away from the fabulous walls!
We were totally inspired by Maison21's wallpaper panel project! He ordered the wallpaper from a company in China, and from what I understand, this was a much more affordable (yet custom) option than de Gournay or Gracie. Brilliant! And of course it is perfectly styled!
How gorgeous is this light blue breakfast area? And you really don't need art on the walls when you have gorgeous wallpaper like this.

For the "darker" side of bird wallpaper... This room reminds us of The Raven. It's a modern take on the traditional birds.

Miss Maggie (Rizer) in her Gracie-wallpapered home.
We love the contrast of the fancy formal wallpaper with the casual seagrass rug.

This Barrie Benson-designed room with De Gournay wallpaper is one of our favorites! It's informal yet inviting, and the light blue buffet keeps it fresh and young.

This bedroom is just stunning. The gold leaf chinoiserie mirror and sconces look great against the wallpaper, and the pair of orchids on the mantle is classic. We would love to see more of this room!

Gray is really growing on us. It's so pretty in this bedroom, and we always love a vanity like this one!
Yellow makes us happy! We love the cherry blossoms on this wallpaper that really make a statement!

Divine! I especially adore that Maison21 yellow room. Thank you for the inspiration!
These are great! It seems to me that a mural artist or decorative painter could reproduce these papers for a fraction of the price. Any ideas?
Have you found an alternative to De Gournay's Portobello? I am dying to get it but it is not really affordable...
