Sunny Side Up

The most recent object of our home accents obsession is the sunburst mirror (often also called starburst mirrors). Bonus points for convex glass! One MoS girl just ordered one for over her bed...can't wait to see how it looks!
While you can get sunburst mirrors from most major home and furniture stores, the best ones are originals from the early 20th century. We just love how they walk a fine line between traditional and modern, sparkly yet subdued. Every time we see a starburst mirror in a well-decorated room, our eye is instantly drawn to it. They look fab in a multitude of rooms- a smaller one is perfect for over a bed, a larger one for over a mantle- but of course they can go just about anywhere else. And best of all, there are so many different varieties of this piece, that you can find one perfectly suited to your tastes. Some are more mid-century-modern inspired, others have a vintage French feel; it just depends on their provenance, color, patina, the number of arms, and the arrangement of the arms.
This mirror lends a more mid-century-modern feel to the room with its narrow, plan arms. French Style Authority
This sunburst mirror is an anchor in an otherwise symmetrical setup. We're also nuts about the wallpaper and the stools. Decor pad

The gold plays off so well against the muted blue. Decor pad.
