MoS Charlotte attended the FABULOUS wedding of a very stylish college friend in Connecticut this past weekend (more on that to come later). The groom's family is from Sri Lanka, so many of his friends and family members were dressed in traditional saris at the wedding. I haven't been able to stop thinking about how beautiful and stylish the saris were. The colors were so vivid, the silk fabric so luxurious, the detail and beadwork so extravagant. It was definitely a style inspiration!
The colors of these traditional saris are just stunning!
And the jewelry the women wore was breathtaking! We absolutely love the colorful stacks of bangles and the vivid jemstones in these pieces!
How pretty are these gold peacock bangles?! We love the intricate etched pattern and the blue birdies!
This stack of gold bangles adds fabulous style to any look!
How beautiful is this amethyst and diamond ring?!

This necklace is our favorite! All the colors of the rainbow! It's like a candy necklace but so much better!

And of course, elephants are our favorite! This adorable iomoi pattern graced the out-of-town guest bags at the wedding!

Or this paperweight from Iomoi?! We love the pattern and colors! We would love to see bedding in this pattern in a bright and airy room with dark wood furniture!

Check out the beautiful carved headboard in Bunny Williams' bedroom. This look is definitely inspired by southern Asia without being too over-the-top. We like the use of neutral colors to keep the room balanced and not too "themed."

Great post! I love the colorful patterns from Southern Asia. I want a room full of them! Congrats to the stylish bride. It was truly a gorgeous (and VERY fun) wedding!!
Thank you MOS Charlotte for featuring my wedding in your blog! You have such amazing taste and you always highlight the most stylish trends in home decor and fashion. My husband and I are honored to be in your blog. I love your blog so much that I am even checking it on my honeymoon! Hopefully you can come to our Sri Lankan homecoming party in September. We can take you shopping in New Jersey and buy you a sari and bangles! Love you!
I love all the vivd colors of Sri Lanka & India: spicy delights for the eyes like curries are for your palette. I think I need to rewatch Monsoon Wedding.
Great and colorful, just have to love the design! Thanks!
